Navigating USC's housing market can be challenging, as many landlords lease properties without investing in proper upkeep. In contrast, my experience with SCSH management has shown that they truly prioritize students. Even though they don’t own most of the properties they manage, SCSH consistently addresses issues and works to improve living conditions. If you’re considering a unit managed by SCSH, be sure to tour it—you’ll be well taken care of.

SCSH is one of the most unreliable places I’ve ever stayed at. Can hardly ever get through to management and there is always a new problem of the week whether it’s a bug infestation due to poor preparation on the management’s part or simply a random outage. I wouldn’t recommend anyone ever stay with SCSH if you plan on living comfortably.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. USC STUDENTS: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN SCSH HOME!
TLDR: SCSH management doesn’t care about their tenants, doesn’t respond to maintenance requests, doesn’t care when their properties are broken into, and is only interested in profit without caring who they hurt.
I’ve lived at their White House property for nearly a year and it has been by far the worst living experience I have had in my 4 years at usc in terms of quality of life and management. I don’t even know where to begin... Starting small, there was construction next door to the property and Jack Baker assured us it would be done before we moved in. Nearly a year after move in and it is still going strong and they have not offered any remedies even though they promised it would be finished. We have a cleaning service included in our lease but because of covid they haven’t been able to provide one, that’s fine and I understand why but it took them until the Spring to give us rent credit to hire our own cleaning crew, meaning that the money supposed to go to cleaning during the fall was completely wasted. We were provided a hot tub that had not been cleaned before move in and caused infections among a few of my roommates. They did not provide any hearing although it was required and again it took them months to finally address this issue. This leads to one of the biggest issues: they do not take repair requests seriously. I’m not even sure if they read them at all. For example, when my clothing rack broke in my closet I sent in a maintenance request immediately. Three days after the incident I had not heard anything from SCSH and it took me emailing them multiple times to finally get maintenance to fix it. This is common for all of our broken things around the house: broken dryer(including a gas leak they did not inform us of), locks on doors (including to the outside which has caused significant safety issues), etc. Speaking of safety issues, people constantly break onto our property and SCSH has done literally nothing to better secure it. All of my roommates and I feel extremely unsafe in this home and SCSH couldn’t care less. They don’t care about the health or safety of their residents; they’re only in this for money. The one time they were responsive to our issues was when the bank was coming the next day to look at the property. The lack of care for the humans they rent to is astounding. Please USC students and families, spend your money on housing literally anywhere else.

SCSH sucks. The management is already transferred to Tripalink which also sucks. They share the property of not responding to repair requests.
